Mehdi Raoufi
is thrilled to be designing again with WFT@BU. His previous WFT@BU credits include The Wizard of Oz, the Teen Ensemble productions of Clue Jr., Pippin, Nightfall with Edgar Allen Poe, as well as sound designing and assistant directing the virtual production of She Kills Monsters. Mehdi has worked for over a decade as a sound designer and teaching artist in the Washington, D.C. area, including Constellation Theatre Company, Faction of Fools, Imagination Stage, Artstream inclusive theatre company and Gallaudet University, just to name a few. When not designing, Mehdi is the Director of School Programs at Open Door Arts, a non-profit organization supporting access and inclusion in the Arts and Culture sector. In his free time, Mehdi loves live music and art, playing and creating music, and his dog, Coltrane. He holds a M.A. in Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University as well as a B.A. in Theater with a concentration in Directing/Dramatic Literature from Christopher Newport University.
