Jon Savage*
(he/him) teaches set design at Boston University where he also served as the Head of Design, Production & Management BFA programs within the School of Theatre from 2010 to 2019. Based in Boston, MA, Jon’s past New England credits include work with Actors Shakespeare Project, Gloucester Stage, New Rep Theatre, Huntington Theatre, Front Porch Arts Collective, Central Square Theatre, and Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, to name a few. Some Regional credits include work at Olney Theatre Center, DC Area; Walnut Street Theatre, Philadelphia; ACT Theatre, Honolulu, HI; Bay Street Theatre, NY; and Bucks County Playhouse, PA. He was the Associate Scenic Designer for Broadway’s Hot Feet, a musical based on the music of Earth, Wind and Fire. He has also worked on tv and film productions for HBOMax, HBO, Discovery Channel and Normandie Films.
Jon served as one of the curators of the 2007 Prague Quadrennial National Student Exhibit and has conducted workshops on design and storytelling for the Southeastern Theatre Conference, United States Institute of Theatre Technology, Accademia dell’arte, Arezzo, Italy, the Bok Center at Harvard University and will be teaching this summer with the Prague Shakespeare Company, Prague, Chechia. He is a proud member of United Scenic Artists.
